Inspired by the majestic mountain ranges of Montana, the RIDG MTN team set out to build a brand of rugged independant durable gear that is as reliable as the people who use it.

Our journey began when founder, Don Smarsh, decided to launch a line of drinkware that would keep up with his mountainous Montana adventures. He and his team set out to create something with purpose – a brand that would combine uncompromising durability with thoughtful design, all while maintaining a direct connection to the Montana mountain culture that inspired us in the first place.

"RIDG" is Rugged. Independent. Durable. Gear.

"MTN" stands for that authentic Montana mountain lifestyle.

"Built For Life" means that we stand behind our products. If you're not satisfied with any RIDG MTN product, you can request a refund for up to a year after your purchase. 

Our Team

Don Smarsh: Founder

Don was born and raised in Laurel, MT, just west of Billings. For the past 30 years, Don and his wife Shelly have owned and operated Dynamic Designs in Laurel. Don's expertise in the promotional products industry combined with his enthusiasm for outdoor living has resulted in RIDG MT drinkware. If Don isn't working on a new customer project at the shop, you'll likely find him fishing the Stillwater or camping near the Beartooth Mountain Range in South Central Montana.

Matthew Smarsh: Co-founder

Like his father, Matthew's Montana roots run deep. He works along with Don as second-in-command at Dynamic Designs in Laurel, MT. Matthew attended college at University of Montana in Missoula, and loves fishing and camping. You can often find Matthew rooting on his favorite teams at local high-school sporting events. Matthews creativity and industry knowledge have been critical to the launch of RIDG MT.

Terence Klein: Marketing/Web Design

Yet another RIDG MT team member with Montana roots. Terence is Don's brother-in-law and Matthews uncle. Born in Billings, MT, Terence currently resides in Bellingham, WA near the foothills of Mt. Baker. When he's not searching for salmon in PNW waters, Terence is most likely working on marketing or music projects with friends & family.

Chloe Keating: Customer Services

Chloe grew up in the small town of Molt, Montana. She spent much of her childhood hunting with her dad on their family’s ranch. The experience gave her a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whenever Chloe gets the chance, you'll find her fishing, hiking, or exploring nature. Chloe brings energy and passion to RIDG MTN with her deep connection to the land and outdoor lifestyle.
